EUDR Amended: New Deadlines for 2026/2027 and What the Simplification Measures Mean for Your Business

In December 2024 and December 2025, the European Union amended the Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), introducing simplification measures and pushing back the application dates.

The EUDR Has Been Amended โ€” Twice

The EU Deforestation Regulation (Regulation 2023/1115) was originally set to apply from December 2024. However, the European Commission recognised that companies โ€” especially small and medium-sized enterprises โ€” needed more time and clearer guidance to comply.

In December 2024, the EU adopted the first round of amendments, followed by a second package in December 2025.
